Cleaning EPC-coated doors.

Svedex doors and door frames generally do not require any special care or maintenance.

Markings left by biros, pencils or felt-tip pens
can be removed and erased from the coating in a flash by using conventional rubbers.

Light soiling
can be very easily wiped off with a regular household cleaner and a damp cloth.

Heavy soling
can be removed with mineral spirits or turpentine.

Abrasive cleaners such as scouring powder can cause irreparable damage to the surfaces and should be avoided.

The door should be wiped down with pure water after cleaning.

Applying top coats to EPC-coated doors.

Even though our Svedex doors are equipped with a layer of varnish that acts almost like a suit of armour, a top coat may still occasionally be necessary – for example, if deeper blemishes are scratched into the coating during assembly or transport.
If you would like to apply a top coat to the door in cases like this, please take note of the following advice:
Degrease the door with a solution of ammonia and water.
Carefully sand the door using sandpaper with a grit size of 140 to 160.
Then sand the door once again using sandpaper with a grit size of 180 to 220.
Remove all the sanding dust from the door with a damp cloth.
Now coat the door with an acrylic or alkyd-based finish.

Avoid long-term contact with adhesive tape on refinished doors.

Can the doors also be used for bathrooms or wet rooms?

The undersides of our EPC Superlack-coated doors are sealed at the factory.

This keeps moisture out of the door, so that our doors are suitable for use as bathroom or wet room doors.
